Information for Individual Taxpayers and Employers
Tax related information is located on the left hand side of the web site. It provides both the individual and employers with the information needed to understand and complete Earned Income Taxes collected for Mifflin County.

Forms as well as instructions for filing are available for download from the web site in PDF format. A link to adobe reader is also available for those who do not have a copy

All forms and tax related documents must be filed no later than April 15, of the current year. All forms must be signed and dated, to be considered completed return.

**Failure to receive forms in the mail does not relieve taxpayers of the obligation to file.

A Return must be Filed even if:
(a) You were a college student;
(b) Your legal domicile is within the Bureau’s taxing jurisdiction, regardless of where you reside or were employed;
(c) All the tax was withheld by your employer;
(d) You received a tax return form and had no taxable income. If you had no taxable income, indicate NONE on line 7 of the tax return.

Update Your Payroll Tax

Keystone is Mifflin County’s New Local Payroll Tax Officer

Mifflin County employers and individual taxpayers will begin reporting 4th Quarter local earned income tax (EIT) and local services tax (LST) to Keystone Collections Group, the new local payroll Tax Officer.

Here is what you need to know.

Employers

  • 4th Quarter 2017 EIT and LST payroll withholding is due by January 31, 2018.
  • File payroll taxes and quarterly return online through Keystone’s Business Portal.
  • For assistance with payroll withholding contact Keystone’s Business Helpline 724-978-0328.
  • Check your mailbox for your welcome materials from Keystone.

Self-Employed Individuals

  • 4th Quarter 2017 EIT and LST payments are due by January 15, 2018.
  • Report and pay tax online using Keystone’s e-file.
  • Check your mailbox in December for your welcome materials from Keystone.

2017 Individual Earned Income Tax Return

  • Taxpayers will receive their Annual earned income tax return in January 2018.
  • If you have wages or net profits, you must file a return online or by mail by April 17, 2018.
